What's in my closet you ask?

Officially started posting on Lookbook.com 11th of January. At first I only started posting cause of my friend Mia who convinced me to open an account. Finally I started getting into it because of the comments I've been getting on facebook from friends and family who actually find some of my personal style intresting and for some who have actually taken inspiration from it. Unfortunately me though I'm not getting any feedbacks or hypes on lookbook which is discouraging but I still kinda enjoy posting and sharing it with friends who are on facebook. During my free time I post old and new shots that some friends and photographers have taken of me.
Usually I find it easy to style and dress people up but I seem to struggle dressing myself, mostly for lack of confidence in my body. But there's no doubt that I love clothes and shoes most especially. and there's no doubt that styling is first nature. I find though that with myself I become critical and I always find the urge to stand-out but in a light manner and nothing too crazy or over the top that will cause major  head flips. So I tend to take clothes to edit them a little to fit my personal taste. and i think that's why my post are a little different cause some outfits are handmade by me. Yes, I sometimes make my own clothes or deconstruct old ones to make them brand new.
See, the one thing I love about fashion is there's technically no rule or say in the matter. Just opinions which half of the time only matter if you make it. I know it's kinda cliche to say, but i have to say it anyway, fashion speaks and it's a different form of communication. With that, please if you have Lookbook feel free to add me up or comment on my post for feedback and suggestions:)

 "Lost Lamb"
Taken during our New Years shopping trip. My friend had just
broken up with her boyfriend so we decided
to treat her to a day of shopping. I mean. nothing beats
like a day at the mall with bags of great finds. ;)
 "Purple Balloon"

Taken during my boyfriends surprise birthday party last June.
Where we both wore shades of bright colors that
complimented each other pretty well.

"A walk in the park"
Taken during my doggy day with my
little chihuahua Prince. The top was an oversized Polo that
I sculpted with a belt to fit me and give me a bit of weight
during my really awkward weight issue moments.

Almost Famous"
Shot taken for my clothing line project to showcase that street casual wear
can be mixed with a beautiful piece of couture.

"Own Creation"
Photo taken by my friend during our prototype finals.
I'm actually wearing hand sewn garments that I
made for my c;ass project

"Where The Sunflowers Bloom"
Photograph of the skirt that was once a Junior
Gaultier Quilted Jacket that my boyfriend handed
down to me and that I deconstructed and made into a skirt.
Sorry Jean Paul Gaultier, don't hate me for this. it really took a lot
of courage for me to actually cut through this. But I have to say the results
we're great and the sleeves made for a really good fabric for two new
hand bags that I also made:)

Getting to know You

Hey Guys,
Hanna here! Thanks for dropping by. This is my first ever blog site, so bare with me and let's try to have fun, and it's actually been awhile since i took the time to actually write something besides things to do, or what to buy from the grocery.

First things first, intro. I'd like to properly introduce myself by letting you know some things about me.

I'm 25 years of age, though people never believe me when i tell them that, for some odd reason they either think I'm still in high school. I'm Filipino, raised and born hear. Though some people also find that hard to believe with the way i look. Yes my skin is white as snow, and though i try to get a tan with the local weather we have here it wont work. I just end up looking like a tomato. Though I think I might have some foreign blood which explains why i look the way i do. If I'm not mistaken my mom has some spanish blood and my dad's family has some chinese blood.

I'm currently a student in Fashion Design. I use to be an assistant stylist and I use to work on set and shoots from 04'-09'. I then shifted careers to culinary since my family loves food and I have a passion for entertaining people.  I then found myself working at Elbert's Steak Room for a year which was a joy and opened up a whole new window for me in life.
However, early last year my mother passed away and that opened doors that gave me a lot to think about. With great thought and heart I found myself going back to Fashion Design which has always been relatively something I've always enjoyed. Before I left Elbert's, Elbert himself gave me great insight, and a conversation I will always remember. He gave me some wisdom of hope and an idea to start a bucket list as early as now to fully enjoy life, so I did. In my list, one of the things I wrote was to make a blog to share thoughts and insight with the world and allow myself to be open to comments. Thus the birth of this blog.

Another thing I'm quite enthusiastic about besides fashion, is photography and editing photos, I think I got that from my mom. When my mom was younger she studied photography abroad and finished. She did some shoots but never really made it into her profession since her heart was in the kitchen and in helping and curing people.
From this intro you probably have guest that my hero in life is my mom. She's the one person that I was always close to and looked up to. I can only pray to and hope to be half the woman she was. When my mom was a live she joined groups to help people and causes, something like an activist.During my free time I find time to help raise money for local charities and I try to continue my moms legacy in raising awareness on things. I also do a lot of charity work and hope to someday put an organization of my own.

So basically that's me in a nut shell. if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message and i will get back to you as fast and best as i can:) With that enjoy. Cheers!
